Scales n’ Skills
Playing an instrument requires a wide variety of physical and mental skills. In this class, students will review and explore those skills in new ways while making friends with others who play their instrument. Concepts will include music theory, ear-training, listening, and improvisation.
Learn about composers, musical styles, music history, world music traditions, and more in this guided listening class! Each month, students are invited to explore topics from the Lifelong Listeners Newsletter and earn listener points in person with their peers and a member of our faculty.
Watch a master performer at work and strengthen your own performance skills! Performing on stage is a skill that takes frequent practice to master. In this class, students build confidence by performing informally for a small group of supportive peers and teachers. Each class opens with a performance and presentation by a faculty member.
