Welcome to Summer Session 2024!

July 9 - August 22

As educators, we strongly believe in year round study for all students.  We have seen time and again the benefits for students who avoid large gaps in their practice.  Continuing with lessons is the best way to avoid Fall frustration and set-backs.  Plus it can be fun!  Lessons during the more relaxed months of the year can feel less pressured and are a great chance to work on something a student is interested in.  Our flexible schedule enables you to choose your best weeks to attend.

Along with weekly in-person lessons, Music 101 will continue to offer students the option of hybrid and virtual lessons through the summer.  Please indicate your student’s desired weeks and format for each attending week.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

  • Summer Session runs July 9 through August 22.
  • Students may register from a variety of flexible lesson options.
  • Summertime is a great time to experiment with music lessons or a new instrument!

Summer Session Details:
Music 101 will be closed during the weeks of June 24 - July 8, 2024.
Please note, there will be no August closure.  The 2024/25 academic year will begin on Monday August 26, 2024.  Summer Session is therefore a seven-week program during the months of July and August.  Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the number of lessons that will best fit their individual schedules to both maintain and continue to grow in their musical studies.  A student may choose to attend between 4 and 7 weeks during the summer session.  If less than the 7 week session is selected, please notify the studio of the week(s) during which the student will be absent.  As we continue our virtual class offering, you will have a choice to select any combination of in-person or virtual lessons for your attending dates.  Credits and/or make-up lessons will not be offered during the summer months.  Please submit payment at time of registration.  Payments may be mailed or dropped off at the studio through the mail slot.  All students attending summer classes will be registered for the fall prior to returning and/or new students.

Scheduling:
During July and August, Music 101 will be available for private lessons Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from
2:30 - 8:00 PM.  Please indicate your preference of days/times for your lesson(s) as well as instructor(s).  All efforts will be made to keep a student with their desired instructor, however, this may not always be possible.  Please note: We may not be able to accommodate everyone's first choice of lesson time.  Decisions will be made on a first come first served basis.

Payment/ Cancellation Policy:
Summer tuition is due at the time of registration.  Payments may be made in cash and check and are necessary in order to reserve the agreed upon lesson time.  Please send payment to: Music 101, 57 Upham Street, Melrose MA, 02176.  There are no make‑up lessons or refunds for student absences.   Any missed time by the student due to tardiness will not be made‑up or refunded.   Music 101 reserves the right to send students home if the student has a fever equal to or greater than 100.4 or is displaying any outward signs of illness.  Music 101 will not refund the cost of a lesson to a student sent home sick.
